Chilkur Balaji Temple head priest attacked over religious issues in Hyderabad
According to the complaint made with the police, a group of people wearing black dress entered the house of the chief priest located adjacent to the Chilkur Balaji temple and forcefully entered into an argument with him
Hyderabad: A group of people trespassed into the house of head priest of Chilkur Balaji Temple, Rangarajan and allegedly attacked him over some religious issue two days ago.
According to the complaint made with the police, a group of people wearing black dress entered the house of the chief priest located adjacent to the Chilkur Balaji temple and forcefully entered into an argument with him. The intruders then rained blows on him leading to some injuries. They later left the place after threatening him.
Based on a complaint, the Moinabad police registered a case and are investigating.
The attack came under wide condemnation from various quarters. BRS leader, Dasoja Sravan Kumar, expressed shock over the assault on the head priest. “He is a revered scholar and noble soul, tirelessly dedicated to protecting spiritual values, sanatana dharma and social justice that he deeply believes in. Such a selfless and socially sensitive individual deserves the highest respect, not violence,” Sravan Kumar wrote on micro-blogging platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter).
Sravan Kumar appealed to the Telangana DGP to initiate action against the persons who attacked the head priest.
