Chilly weather to persist in Telangana; Minimum temperatures drop 2–3°C below normal
Hyderabad and Telangana are experiencing severe cold wave conditions, with minimum temperatures 2–3°C below normal. IMD warns cold will continue until December 16, while independent weather tracker predicts chilly conditions may persist until December 21.

Hyderabad: Severe cold wave conditions sweeping across Hyderabad and districts are expected to continue for a few more days. On Sunday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad in its forecast extended cold wave warnings in several districts till Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
“Dry Weather is very likely to prevail over Telangana. Minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 2 degree C to 3 degree C, in isolated pockets, during next 2 days over Telangana. Cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Sangareddy and Medak districts,” IMD-Hyderabad forecast on Sunday said.
The minimum temperatures in the above areas are expected to range between 5 degree C and 11 degree C for the next 24 hours to 48 hours.
According to IMD Hyderabad, minimum temperatures in Hyderabad and surrounding districts will continue to hover between 11 degree Celsius and 15 degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, noted independent weather tracker from Hyderabad, T Balaji, who shares daily weather reports from his X account Telangana Weatherman, said that chilly cold wave-like conditions are expected to continue till December 21.
“Overall, there will be no major respite from cold weather ahead in the coming days. Temperatures will remain very chilly between December 16 and 18. People should get ready for another powerful cold wave on December 19, 2025,” he posted on X.
