Hyderabad: Noted singer and dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripada has appealed to Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar to take action against individuals who allegedly hurled abusive and derogatory remarks at her during an X Space (formerly Twitter Spaces) discussion.
The issue came to light after Yashaswini P, an X user, shared a post revealing that participants in the space had used offensive language and made personal attacks against both her and Chinmayi.
“They went on and spoke nasty things not only about me but also about Chinmayi. Unfortunately, I don’t have a recording, but I hope she files a complaint against all these low-life roaches,” Yashaswini wrote.
Responding to the post, Chinmayi tagged the Police Commissioner and wrote: “Respected @SajjanarVC Sir, please take cognisance of this. I am sick and tired of this everyday abuse. Women deserve better in Telangana. If they don’t like an opinion, they can ignore and leave. I am happy to file a complaint, and even if this case takes 15 years, let the law take its course. These men are basically saying my kids should die. Please help.”
Following her appeal, the Police Commissioner directed the Hyderabad Cybercrime Unit to initiate an inquiry and take appropriate legal action against those involved in the incident.
