Chiranjeevi leads ‘Run for Unity’ in Hyderabad, urges awareness on deepfakes

Hyderabad: Film actor K Chiranjeevi led the ‘Run for Unity’ organized by the Hyderabad Police at People’s Plaza in PVNR Marg on Friday, as part of the nationwide celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and architect of national integration.
The event, held on the occasion of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day), drew over 5,000 enthusiastic participants, including citizens, youth, and police personnel. Parallel runs were also organized across all seven zones under the city police limits to reaffirm the nation’s commitment to unity, integrity, and security.
                            
                
    
Speaking at the event, Chiranjeevi hailed Sardar Patel as “a great blessing who unified 560 princely states into one nation,” calling his vision and resolve an inspiration for the present generation.
He lauded the Hyderabad City Police for spreading the message of ‘Unity in Diversity’ through such public initiatives.

Addressing further on the growing menace of deepfake technology, Chiranjeevi said it poses a serious threat to individuals and society.
He assured the gathering that DGP B Shivadhar Reddy and Hyderabad Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, were personally supervising investigations into deepfake cases, urging citizens not to fear as the police are fully supportive and proactive.
Shivadhar Reddy, who also attended the event said the run symbolizes the collective resolve of the people to preserve national unity, inspired by Patel’s historic integration of more than 560 princely states.
Commissioner V.C Sajjanar encouraged the youth to emulate Sardar Patel’s ideals and contribute to building a harmonious and responsible society.
He also cautioned youngsters against sharing ‘mule accounts’ with cybercriminals for small amounts, warning that such acts can lead to legal consequences.
