Hyderabad: Megastar Chiranjeevi made an appeal publicly to both the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to resolve the problems being faced by single screen owners and film producers. Chiranjeevi spoke about the contentious issues like ticket prices and government’s policy on the sidelines of the pre-release event of Naga Chaitanya-starrer ‘Love Story’ that was held in the city on Sunday evening.
The Megastar said it was easy to reach out to the officials of the Telangana government whereas it was not the same with AP officials. The meeting with the AP government is getting postponed time and again for various reasons.
Stating that the success of the film industry is just below 20 per cent, the actor said, “People might think that the film industry is flourishing but cinema workers and artistes are the most affected ones during the ongoing pandemic. Their livelihood depends on cinema shoots. Just because a few actors take massive remuneration doesn’t mean that the industry is in a good shape.”
Chiranjeevi further said his upcoming movie ‘Acharya’ has wrapped up the entire shoot but producers are clueless about releasing the film in theatres. While the Telangana government extended complete support to the industry by taking the dialogue forward, the Megastar pointed out there was complete silence from the AP government.
