Karimnagar: Choppadandi MLA Sunke Ravishankar came down heavily on former legislature and BJP leader Bodige Shobha for making derogatory comments against the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He condemned her remarks and demanded for an apology.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Ravishankar said that it was not proper on the part of Shobha to criticise the Chief Minister who gave her a political life and helped her win as ZPTC and later as MLA from the Choppadandi constituency in 2014. He pointed out that while participating in the 2014 election campaign held in Gangadhara, Chandrashekhar Rao said that he considers Shobha as his daughter and appealed to the voters to elect her with a thumping majority.

“At the same time, Shobha also said that she considers the Chief Minister as her father and her God. How could Shobha make such derogatory comments against the same person who gave her political life. Though she was a non-local candidate, Choppadandi people elected her in the 2014 poll only because of Chandrashekhar Rao,” he said. He added that Shobha did not even spare Telangana State Planning Board vice chairman and former MP B Vinod Kumar, who helped her get MLA ticket in 2014 elections.

The Choppadandi MLA alleged that people of Choppandandi constituency defeated Shobha in the 2018 elections when she contested on the BJP ticket as she was demanding money from the beneficiaries of various government schemes during her previous stint as MLA. He stated that the former legislator who had no house to stay, was now owner of properties worth crores of rupees in Hyderabad, Karimnagar and other places.
