Hyderabad: The chorus is getting louder for the postponement of the Group-II services recruitment examination scheduled for December 15 and 16. With Group-II and RRB exam schedules falling on the same day, the aspirants demanded the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) and Congress government to defer the Group-II examination by 15 or 20 days.

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) recently rescheduled the recruitment exams for junior engineer and other categories of posts on December 16, 17, and 18. This schedule clashed with the TGPSC recruitment exam scheduled on December 15 and 16.

This clash of schedules prompted aspirants to demand postponement of the Group-II exam, seeking fair opportunity to appear for both exams. Moreover, the RRB exam is conducted across the country and rescheduling it will be difficult for the RRB.

“The clash of exam schedule poses a significant challenge, as aspirants will be unable to attend both exams simultaneously. Given the importance of both exams for unemployed youth, we kindly request that you consider rescheduling the Group-II , which would give the opportunity for the unemployed to take both examinations and have equitable opportunities,” said aspirants in a representation submitted to TGPSC.

Despite the absence of any scheduled examinations in the pipeline, the State government appears to be adamant about sticking to its original decision, said A Janardhan, leader of Unemployed Youth JAC. “Aspirants are seeking a mere 15-day adjustment to the exam dates. This adjustment will not hinder any notifications,” he added.

The TGPSC had notified 783 Group-II vacancies. As earlier notified by the Commission, hall tickets for the exam will be made available for download on the TGPSC website https://www.tspsc.gov.in from December 9.

A total of 7,951 junior engineer, depot material superintendent and chemical & metallurgical assistant posts have been notified under different railway recruitment boards (RRB) across the country. Of these, 590 posts, including 248 unreserved, 104 SC, 45 ST, 130 OBC and 63 EWS, are under the RRB Secunderabad division.

A link for viewing the exam city, date and downloading of travel authority for SC/ST candidates will be made live 10 days prior to the exam date on the official websites of all RRBs. Candidates can download e-call letters four days prior to exam date mentioned in exam city and date intimation link.
