Nalgonda: Farmers in Choutuppal mandal staged a protest demonstration on Wednesday against the land acquisition for the Regional Ring Road (RRR).
The demonstrators, led by former MLA K Prabhakar Reddy, voiced their opposition to the forcible acquisition of their agricultural lands without fair compensation.
The farmers demanded a realignment of the road plan to avoid agricultural lands, which they consider vital for their livelihood.
They suggested that the RRR should be developed by acquiring non-agricultural lands instead.
A memorandum outlining their concerns and demands was presented to Revenue Divisional Officer Shekhar Reddy.
