Hyderabad: Chowmahalla Palace and Banyan Tree jointly organised the World Music Day celebrations at Chowmahalla Palace this evening with the renowned Nizami Brothers, a sufi qawwali group.

Known for their soulful performances rooted in the rich tradition of Sufi music, they hail from the prestigious Delhi Gharana of Qawwali and are descendants of a long lineage of Qawwals who have performed at the dargah (shrine) of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya for generations.

Led by Ustad Akbar Nizami and Son Gufran Nizami, the group is famous for preserving the classical style of qawwali while also making it accessible to contemporary audiences.

At Chowmahalla, they performed a feast of traditional Sufi music, combining modern trends with traditional qawwalis, enchanting the music lovers of the city. Palace director G Kishan Rao participated in the event.
