Hyderabad: The Telangana CID issued a notice to BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy under Section 35(3) of the BNSS, summoning him for questioning in connection with a case registered at Huzurabad police station. The case pertained to an incident during the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara in his native Veenavanka village.
The MLA is accused of obstructing traffic by holding a road blockade, allegedly causing inconvenience to the public. He is also charged with hindering police personnel in the discharge of their duties, making derogatory remarks against officials, and disturbing law and order.
Kaushik Reddy was asked to appear before the CID on April 4 with relevant documents and identity proof. He has been instructed to cooperate with the investigation and warned of legal action in case of non-compliance.
Responding to the notice, the BRS legislator termed it harassment, alleging that his family members and party workers were being targeted to settle political score with him. He asserted that he would continue to question the government on its failed promises, despite the alleged police harassment.
