More monsoon-driven rains are expected today, as Hyderabad MET Department has issued a warning for heavy thundershowers and gusty winds

Hyderabad: Hyderabad continues to be battered by heavy thunderstorms and strong, gusty winds, with several core areas experiencing massive rains on Thursday night.

More monsoon-driven rains are expected today, as Hyderabad MET Department has issued a warning for heavy thundershowers and gusty winds.


Yesterday night, heavy rains lashed central areas including Musheerabad, Himayatnagar, Secunderabad, along with eastern localities such as Uppal, L B Nagar, Saroornagar and Karmanghat.

Based on Telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS) data, the weather stations installed at Jawahar Nagar Community Hall area, Musheerabad recorded 41.8 mm of rainfall followed by TSRTC Employee Building Vidyanagar in Musheerabad, which received 36.5 mm.

Other areas that received substantial rainfall include Osmania University (33.8 mm), model market NGOs colony in Vanasthalipuram (32.8 mm), Hayathnagar (31.3 mm), Uppal (30.5 mm), Boudha Nagar, Secunderabad (27.5 mm) and Nacharam ward office  which received 26.3 mm of rainfall.
