Class 10 student dies by suicide after being scolded by father in Mancherial
A 16-year-old Class 10 student allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Mandamarri, Mancherial district, on Sunday morning. A suicide note indicated that he was depressed after being scolded by his father for poor performance in recent examinations.
Mancherial: A Class 10 student allegedly died by suicide at Angadibazar in Mandamarri town early on Sunday morning. The exact reason for his drastic step is yet to be ascertained.
Police said Kyatham Thanay (16) ended his life by hanging at his residence. Family members woke up to find his body hanging from the ceiling at around 7 am. They alerted the police, who shifted the body to the Government General Hospital in Mancherial for postmortem.
According to a suicide note purportedly written by Thanay, he was reportedly depressed after being reprimanded by his father to focus on studies. He had appeared for the annual examinations that concluded recently, but reportedly performed poorly, prompting his father to scold him.
Satyanarayana, the student’s father, lodged a complaint with the police. An investigation is underway.
