Hyderabad: A teenage girl was allegedly raped by a man in Rajendranagar, police said on Thursday.

The 16-year-old girl, a class ten student, was known to the suspect, who is from the same neighbourhood.

Police said the suspect befriended the girl and they had been friends for nearly one year.

During this, he allegedly took her on his motorcycle to a secluded spot near Himayath Sagar, where he raped her.

He threatened to kill her and family members if she revealed it to anyone. The girl recently informed her parents what happened.

Based on the victim’s complaint, the Rajendranagar police booked a case and are investigating.

Efforts are on to nab the suspect.
