Karimnagar: A Class X student of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Jammikunta, died of fever while undergoing treatment in Warangal MGM hospital on Sunday. Based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents, the police registered a case against three staff of the school.
A native of Mulkalapalli, Mogullapalli mandal of Jayashankar-Bhupalapalli district, Nityasree (15) was studying Class X in Jammikunta Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya.
The girl, who recently went home, came back to the school on November 18. As she was suffering from fever, she again went home on November 21. Next day, she was taken to a hospital in Parkal.
After providing treatment in a private hospital in Hanamkonda on November 23, she was shifted to MGM hospital where she breathed her last while undergoing treatment.
Nityasree’s father Ravi alleged that his daughter died due to negligence of school staff. Though she was suffering from fever, school staff had not informed him. He lodged a complaint with Jammikunta police. Based on the complaint, police registered the case against school ANM Prabhavathi, teacher Anusha and special officer Supriya.
