Siddipet: Health and Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Monday instructed the Health Department authorities to make arrangements to start classes at the nursing college in the old building of Mother and Child Care Hospital in Siddipet.
Speaking at a review meeting here, the Minister said that the classes of the first batch will commence from March this year with an intake of 100 students. Saying that they have already allotted a 5 acre land on the outskirts of Siddipet town near Ensanpally to build a permanent building, the Minister also directed them to make arrangements for laying a foundation stone to mark the beginning of the classes. Since the four year BSc (Nursing) course will have 400 students in four years combined, Rao said that they will build sufficient classrooms, hostels and other facilities on the sprawling campus. Nursing College Principal Sunitha, District Nodal Officer (Health Department) Dr Kashinath, and others were present.
Earlier, the Health Minister inaugurated a free Unani health camp at NGOs Bhavan in Siddipet. The camp was organised to mark National Unani Day. Harish Rao also inaugurated the services of a hearse van in Siddipet town.
