Clean India programme held by NITW and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan in Warangal

Warangal: The NSS NIT Warangal unit and the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan have jointly organised the Clean India event by taking out a procession in the streets of Janakipuram village near here on Saturday.

NIT Director Prof NV Ramana Rao and village Sarpanch Navya flagged off the rally at the village in Dharmasgar mandal of Hanamkonda district. Villagers appreciated and congratulated the NIT for choosing their village for the Clean India programme. Saplings have also been planted in the village in an attempt to add greenery to the village.


Subsequently, the village was cleaned, emphasizing the importance of a clean India. NSS – NITW student group raised awareness among villagers about the precautions to be taken seasonal diseases and Covid-19. They have also distributed masks and sanitisers to the locals free of cost.

The students have also distributed pamphlets on steps to check the spread of COVID, diseases and the importance of education, and distributed notebooks and pens to school children. Finally, the NSS volunteers have also enquired with the villagers about the problems in the village and made suggestions to resolve them. NSS Coordinator of the NITW, Dr G Shiva Kumar, NSS Programme Officer Dr K Uday Kumar and others attended the programme.
