Closure of hostels: Students stage dharna in Hyderabad
Osmania University authorities had issued orders asking colleges to immediately shut down hostels and mess facilities in view of an increase in Covid-19 cases
Hyderabad: A few students of the Government PG College Secunderabad were taken into custody on Thursday afternoon when they staged a protest against the closure of the college hostel.
Osmania University authorities had issued orders asking colleges to immediately shut down hostels and mess facilities in view of an increase in Covid-19 cases. However, students of the college came out of the institution and squatted on the Begumpet – Secunderabad road and raised slogans.
The police, who had a tough time persuading them to disperse, later took a few of them into custody and shifted them to the nearby police station.
