Siddipet: A kabaddi match between two teams turned into a fight between the players in Husnabad on Thursday. The coach of one of the teams sustained a bleeding injury on his head as both teams threw chairs at each other after the final match of the CM Cup.
The Husnabad and Maddur mandal teams had qualified for the finals of the kabaddi tournament. The players from both teams were involved in some sledging ahead of the final match. When Maddur won the finals, the Maddur players said they had proved what they were as a team.
The argument resulted in a fight as both teams attacked each other by throwing chairs. The police stepped into action and controlled the players and chased outsiders out of the ground. Maddur coach Nagaraju sustained a bleeding injury on his head.
The organisers later presented the winners and runners-up trophies to the teams during the concluding ceremony.
