CM KCR accorded grand welcome by people of Vasalamarri
With the arrival of the Chief Minister, a festive atmosphere filled the village as people had decorated their houses with traditional mango leaves and flowers
Yadadri-Bhongir: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was accorded a grand welcome by the villagers on his arrival at Vasalamarri to participate in community lunch and gram sabha on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister, who came to the village by a special bus, was given the traditional ‘mangala harathi’ welcome by the womenfolk. Chandrashekhar Rao first visited Kodanda Ramalayam in the village and performed pooja.
With the arrival of the Chief Minister, a festive atmosphere filled the village as people had decorated their houses with traditional mango leaves and flowers. Some villagers, who had migrated to Hyderabad and other places in search of livelihood, returned to Vasalamarri to participate in the community lunch and attend his gram sabha.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Guntipalli Venkatesham, a native of Vasalamarri who migrated to Hyderabad in search of livelihood, exuded confidence that their village would witness all round development following the Chief Minister’s decision to adopt it. “I never thought that a Chief Minister would visit our village,” he said.
Vasala Ramana, who came from Nalgonda for the Chief Minister’s engagements in his village, said they were greatly inspired by Chandrashekhar Rao’s speech at the gram sabha. “It will definitely reflect in the development of the village. The Chief Minister’s visit will also unite all the villagers to ensure development of their native place,” he added. He exuded confidence that those who migrated to other places from the village would return to their native Vasalamarri within the next few months.
