Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was according top priority for the welfare of the people in the State and accordingly introduced various schemes for their benefit, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said here on Saturday. Speaking at an awareness programme with the beneficiaries of Dalit Bandhu scheme at Harihara Kala Bhavan in Secunderabad, he said the Chief Minister introduced Dalit Bandhu scheme to enable Dalits develop financially.

With the success of the scheme, the people from other States would also demand their respective State governments to introduce similar schemes for them. With huge allocations made in the recently presented budget, around 1500 people in each Assembly constituency would be benefited with the scheme, he said.


In undivided Andhra Pradesh, there was no water to meet the needs of drinking water and agriculture sector in Telangana. People also faced power supply problems. But after the formation of separate Telangana, the State government laid more focus on the irrigation sector and constructed Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme and other projects.

This helped in meeting the requirements of the drinking water and irrigation sector. The ground water levels were also improved significantly with the help of Mission Kakatiya programme. With an objective to realise the dream of poor people to own a house, the State government was giving 2BHK houses to them at free of cost.

For the marriage of the girl child, the State government was giving Rs.1,00116 under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak scheme, Srinivas Yadav said. He added the works pertaining to construction of the towering statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar near Tank Bund would be completed this year.
