Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced a new district of Hanamkonda after considering the requests from the local public. Several elected representatives submitted representations to the Chief Minister during the latter’s visit to Warangal city on Monday. He directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to consider the requests and issue orders after finalising the district boundaries within the next a few days.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to use the newly inaugurated Integrated Collectorate Complex of Warangal Urban district which is located in Hanamkonda for the new district of Hanamkonda and construct a new Integrated Collectorate Complex for Warangal Urban district in Autonagar area.

On the occasion, he felt that the districts did not progress as per the aspirations of the people in the past, but the State government was striving to develop the districts and ensure distributed development of all areas. “Warangal will be developed into a hub of industries, educational and health institutions to compete with Hyderabad as well as become the headquarters for East Telangana region,” he said.

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the administrative block of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences and the Integrated Collectorate Complex of Warangal Urban district. He had also laid the foundation stone for the proposed multi-super specialty hospital on the premises of the old central prison.

Chandrashekhar Rao wanted the officials to develop a massive Health complex by combining the premises of the proposed multi-super specialty hospital along with the Health University, Kakatiya Medical College, MGM Hospital and other health universities which are spread over 200 acres in the heart of Warangal city, to offer all health services to the people. He also sanctioned a government dental college along with a dental hospital. The multi-super specialty hospital will be developed as a 33-storeyed structure with all super specialty medical services and will be equipped with an air-ambulance facility to offer emergency health services for even those residing in remote areas.
