CM KCR orders probe into charges against Eatala Rajender
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao asked the Vigilance and Enforcement wing to submit a preliminary report immediately followed by a detailed investigative report
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has asked the Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to instruct the Medak district collector to probe the allegations of land grab made against Minister Eatala Rajender and submit a report to him immediately. In addition to this the Chief Minister has also ordered the Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement Purnachandar Rao to conduct an inquiry and submit a preliminary report immediately. Subsequently, the V& E wing would submit a detailed investigative report, according to a communication by the Chief Minister’s Office.
The Chief Minister’s orders came in the wake of sensational allegations of land grabbing made by farmers of two villages in Medak district against Health Minister Eatala Rajender. The villagers accused him of forcibly taking over their assigned lands. Eight villagers from Achampet and Hakimpet in Masaipet mandal complained to the Chief Minister alleging that the Minister and his followers had taken over their lands to start a poultry industry. They appealed to the Chief Minister to ensure that the assigned lands given to them by the Government be restored to them immediately.
The petitioners alleged that the Minister and his associates had taken the land documents after subjecting the petitioners to fear stating that the government was to take over the assigned lands. “They had forcibly collected the land assignment certificates from us”. The petitioners alleged that nearly 100 acres of assigned lands were grabbed by the Minister who started a poultry industry “without any permissions”. Some farmers who objected to and prevented the land grab were being made to suffer with the access to their lands being cut off by the minister and his followers, the petitioners alleged.
