Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao paid tributes to Adivasi leader and freedom fighter Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary here on Monday. The Chief Minister said Birsa Munda had sacrificed his life at a very young age, while fighting for the country’s independence, for the self-respect and rights of the tribals and his actions will remain etched in the history of the country’s freedom movement. He said under the self-governance, the Telangana government was implementing several welfare and development programmes for the tribals and protecting their self-respect.
