Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said the State government was committed to fulfilling the ideals of Kumaram Bheem who fought for tribal rights and had realised the aspirations of tribals ‘Our rule in our hamlet’. He paid rich tributes to Kumaram Bheem on his birth anniversary and recalled the services rendered by the latter for the tribals.
In a statement, Chandrashekhar Rao said the State government was implementing several schemes and programmes for the welfare and development of Adivasis and celebrating the birth anniversary of Kumaram Bheem officially. He said that a memorial, Smrithi Vanam and museum, were developed at Jodeghat, where Bheem waged his battle. To uphold the self-respect of the tribals, Adivasi Bhavan has been constructed in Hyderabad which is ready for the inauguration.
The Chief Minister said the spirit of Kumaram Bheem’s popular slogan ‘Jal, Jangal, Zameen’ was very much an integral part of the statehood movement as well as the development of the State. He said the tribals have a special love for forests and nature, and everyone should take inspiration from them in this regard.
