Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said despite all the hardships, Mahatma Gandhi acted with peace and tolerance to achieve lofty goals in a democratic manner, which were ideal for all. He paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of the latter’s death anniversary on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandrashekhar Rao said the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi, who achieved independence for the country with truth and non-violence as his weapons, was great. He stated that the principles of peace and tolerance followed by Gandhi ji inspired the fight for achieving Telangana State. He said the new State of Telangana was moving forward on the path of peace, universal brotherhood and secularism followed by Gandhi ji.
