Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday released a book ‘Vriksha Vedam’ published by Green India Challenge on the occasion of the birthday of Rajya Sabha member J Santosh Kumar at Pragati Bhavan. Authored by Cultural Affairs director Mamidi Harikrishna and edited by Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister’s Office Deshapathi Srinivas, the book features a collection of ‘Shlokas’ from Indian literature on trees and forests as well as photographs showcasing the beauty of forests in Telangana State.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated Santosh Kumar for bringing out the book ‘Vrikshavedam’. He said trees are considered to be divine in Indian culture and stated that the dream of a green Telangana was becoming a reality due to the concerted efforts of the State government. Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy, MLC Goreti Venkanna, Green India Challenge vice-president Raghava and others were present.
