Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday returned to Hyderabad after his four-day visit to Delhi followed by a day-long stop at Ranchi, as parts of his efforts to garner support for unification of like-minded forces in his fight against the BJP government at the Centre.

Chandrashekhar Rao who left for Delhi on Monday, met several political and farmer leaders as well as intellectuals including some retired civil servants during his stay in Delhi. Prominent among them were Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy and farmers’ leader Rakesh Tikait among others, where he emphasised the need for a qualitative change in the country. He is learnt to have sought their participation in deliberations in this direction.

On Friday, the Chief Minister visited Ranchi where he called on his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren and his father and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren. They discussed national politics and the urgent need to show a new direction for the nation’s development. The father-son duo also are learnt to have shared similar views.

Sources said Chandrashekhar Rao has intensified his efforts in bringing together various political parties and other organisations as well as individuals to trigger a nation-wide debate on the urgent need to end the divisive politics of the BJP government at the Centre. It is learnt that he is likely to take another tour to meet other like-minded leaders in other States, after the budget session of the Telangana State Legislature scheduled to commence on Monday.
