Hyderabad: Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy took exception to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s outburst against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leaders in the State.

Since he was feeling insecure, the Chief Minister was criticizing Modi and BJP leaders, he said, addressing a press conference in New Delhi. Reacting to the Chief Minister remarks during the press conference on Tuesday, Reddy said the former has no moral right to criticise Modi, who is striving for the overall development of the country.

“A Chief Minister, who is holding a Constitutional position, is proposing a new Constitution. Is it correct?” he said, adding that the ruling leaders were unnecessarily flaying the Central government. To divert the attention of people, the Chief Minister was spewing venom on the BJP.

“We are answerable for every rupee collected in the form of taxes and accordingly, we are working for the development of the country,” he said. Before making remarks against the Central government, the ruling party leaders should also think about their failures.

The government failed to waive loans of farmers and give unemployment dole. It did not supply seeds at subsidised rates to farmers. Pavula vaddi scheme was not extended to Dwcra groups. The ruling party was unable to give fee reimbursement properly.

Referring to linking of Godavari and Krishna rivers, Reddy said the issue was being debated for the last 50 years and previous governments constituted task force committees and prepared budget estimates. Since detailed discussion was already completed, the Centre came up with the proposal of linking rivers, he explained.

He clarified that once a consensus was reached among the beneficiary States on linking the rivers, the Centre will support the implementation process. The issue was also discussed when the Chief Minister was union Minister during UPA tenure.
