CM KCR to hold emergency meeting, to prepare report to be submitted to Centre

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will hold a high-level emergency review meeting at 3 pm at Pragathi Bhavan here to take stock of the situation in the aftermath of heavy rains and floods in the State.

Besides the prevailing situation in the State, the meeting will also discuss the measures taken so far and those that need to be initiated. The Chief Minister has asked all officials concerned to come prepared for the meeting since the State government has to submit a report to the Centre on the losses caused by the heavy rains and flash floods in the State.

Municipal Administration and IT Minister KT Rama Rao, Minister for Power G Jagdeesh Reddy, Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy, R&B Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Ministers from Hyderabad T Srinivas Yadav, Mohammad Mehmood Ali, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Genco CMD D Prabhakar Rao, SPDCL CMD Raghuma Reddy, Principal Secretaries of Municipal, Agriculture, R&B, GHMC Commissioner and Hyderabad Collector will participate in the review meeting.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to come with details regarding losses suffered in their respective departments in the heavy rains and floods. The review meeting will also discuss the rehabilitation measures taken, additional measures to be taken and the issues to be mentioned in the report to be submitted to the Centre.

Telangana State has been lashed by unprecedented rains in the past three days, claiming 30 lives, affecting normal life and damaging standing crops in thousands of acres in the State.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who spoke with Chandrashekhar Rao on Wednesday and inquired about the situation, has assured of all help to the State.
