CM KCR to inaugurate Buddhavanam project shortly: Srinivas Goud
The Chief Minister instructed officials to develop infrastructure in and around Nagarjunasagar with a special focus on Buddhavanam project, Prohibition and Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud added.
Hyderabad: Prohibition and Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud here on Wednesday said the iconic Buddhavanam project near Nagarjunasagar was completed and the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao would inaugurate it after the impact of Covid-19 virus reduces.
After the formation of separate State for Telangana, the Buddhavanam project was back on track as the Chief Minister instructed officials to develop infrastructure in and around Nagarjunasagar with a special focus on Buddhavanam project.
He interacted with Buddhist monks during a virtual meeting organized as part of Buddha Jayanthi. He also took part in Buddha Jayanthi celebrations at his office in Ravindra Bharathi here. He said a series of programmes were organized for the development of Buddhism apart from taking steps to protect Buddhist historic places at Koti Lingala, Nelakondapally, Doolikattu and Phanigiri among other places in the State.
He advised people to extend a helping hand to the bereaved families of those who died due to Covid and other patients on humanitarian grounds. He took strong exception to some family members, who are abandoning Covid affected bodies and staying away from conducting final rites. The Minister called upon people to serve the needy people during crisis.
