Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was aiming to extend free medical treatment to the poor on par with corporate hospitals. To this effect, medical infrastructure was being rapidly developed across the State, said Roads and Building Minister V Prashanth Reddy.
The Minister held a review meeting with R&B department officials here on Tuesday. Addressing on the occasion, he said the State government was constructing a super specialty hospital in Warangal, four multi-specialty hospitals in four sides of Hyderabad, besides expansion of NIMS.
In addition to these, eight medical colleges were coming up in Sangareddy, Mahabubabad, Bhadadri Kothagudem, Mancherial, Jagtiyal, Wanaparty, Nagarkurnool and Ramagundem. In tune with these colleges, 14 nursing colleges were also proposed across the State, he said.
The task to construct these hospitals and colleges has been entrusted to R&B department. During the meeting, architects made a presentation on the designs for the proposed hospitals, medical and nursing colleges’ construction in the State.
He suggested a few changes in the designs and instructed the architects to prepare the final designs to be presented before the Chief Minister shortly. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and senior officials from medical and R&B departments participated in the meeting.
