Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy, reiterating that the State government was commited to the welfare of tribals in the State, said on Thursday that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s initiative to upgrade thandas into gram panchayats was a milestone in the progress and development of tribals.
Participating in the 282nd Jayanthi celebrations of Santh Sevalal maharaj in Suryapet, Jagdish Reddy said that the services of Santh Sevalal for survival of tribals were etched in history and brought him respect in the society particularly among tribals. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was the first leader in the country, who recognized the services of Santh Sevalal and decided to celebrate his birth anniversary officially, he added.
He also underlined the need to propagate the principles of Santh Sevalal Maharaj and to carry them forward to the next generations. The state government has been respecting traditions and culture of all religions, castes and tribes and also taking up measures for their welfare.
