CM Revanth good at breaking promises, but not fulfilling them: Harish Rao

"Revanth Reddy has not fulfilled any promises from the Warangal Declaration. Farmers remain distressed, and the schemes introduced during KCR’s regime, like Rythu Bandhu, Bathukamma sarees, and KCR kits, have been scrapped," he said.

Hyderabad: Former Minister T Harish Rao targeted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his negligence towards fulfilling promises made to people of Telangana, particularly farmers. He said the Congress government had failed to implement key schemes promised during the elections, leaving farmers and rural communities in distress.

During his visit to the Kurumurthy Swamy temple in Mahabubnagar district on Wednesday, Harish Rao said Revanth Reddy is good at breaking promises and abusing those who are questioning him, rather than delivering them. He said farmers are still facing hardships. “Revanth Reddy has not fulfilled any promises from the Warangal Declaration. Farmers remain distressed, and the schemes introduced during KCR’s regime, like Rythu Bandhu, Bathukamma sarees, and KCR kits, have been scrapped,” he said.

The former Minister criticised Revanth Reddy for failing to support agriculture. He said under BRS leadership, Telangana had transformed into an agricultural hub, harvesting 1.59 crore metric tonnes of paddy compared to 30 lakh metric tonnes previously at the time of State formation.

Harish Rao also took issue with the Chief Minister’s language about former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, calling it inappropriate for a Chief Minister. He said while Chandrashekhar Rao is a Kalpavruksha boon providing prosperity to Telangana, Revanth Reddy was “more noise and less substance.”

He highlighted the Congress government’s failure to procure adequate paddy, leaving farmers vulnerable to middlemen. While the Congress boasts about crop loan waivers in Maharashtra, he said crop loan waiver in Telangana remains only partial and loans for women in the State remain stalled for past eight months.

Harish Rao exuded confidence in the BRS returning to power, predicting a victory with 100 seats in the next election, whenever held. He said people too were eagerly waiting to teach the Congress a lesson for its failed promises.
