Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday urged Union Minister for Road Transport and National Highways Nitin Gadkari to sanction Central funds to improve connectivity between Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada and Prakasam district. He also sought technical and financial clearances required for the northern part (159 km) of the Regional Ring Road (RRR).

Revanth Reddy who met Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Thursday night, appealed for construction of a four-lane elevated corridor of 62 km stretch on NH-765 in Amrabad forest area, with central funds to facilitate night traffic. The elevated corridor would reduce the distance between Hyderabad and Prakasam district.

He urged Gadkari to expedite the detailed project report for widening of Hyderabad-Vijayawada (NH-65) highway into six lanes, to improve connectivity. He requested to grant permission for construction of a bypass road on the southern side of Warangal on NH-63 connecting Telangana and Chhattisgarh, to reduce traffic congestion in Warangal and Hanamkonda.

Further, the Chief Minister wanted ropeways at Yadadri temple, Hanuman Konda in Nalgonda town, and at Nagarjunasagar project under Parvathamala scheme as well as sanction of pontoon bridges at 10 places in tribal habitations alongside Godavari and Krishna rivers.
