Telangana Statehood movement which began in Khammam district spread across the State and the district. With Chandrashekhar Rao’s hunger strike Khammam gained importance and has become a centre point in the movement, he said.
Chandrashekhar Rao’s firm determination and statesmanship have united Telangana people besides drawing support for the statehood cause from across the country. Ultimately the Centre had to concede to the demand of separate Telangana because of his fighting spirit, Ravinder Rao said.
Addressing the gathering Ajay Kumar said that the Congress government has lost public faith in just 11 months. He advised the party cadres not to fear false cases and suppression by the ruling party as the party leadership would stand by them.
The next government in Telangana would be formed by the BRS and a proper return gift would be given to Congress leaders who targetted the BRS leaders and cadres, he warned. MLC Madhusudhan said it was because of Chandrashekhar Rao Telangana culture and dialect gained prominence.
Former MLAs S Venkata Veeraiah, K Upender Reddy, B Chandravathi, senior leaders Gundala Krishna, Lingala Kamal Raju, Bommera Rammurthy, Telangana activist U Venkataramana and others were present.
