Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao lambasted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for his frequent trips to Delhi, stating that these were aimed at pleasing his Delhi bosses rather than addressing the State’s issues. He said the Chief Minister was mortagaging Telangana’s interests before the Congress high command, destroying the lives of the poor and marginalised sections to fill the party’s coffers through projects like Musi Riverfront Development Project.

In a statement, Rama Rao pointed out that over the last 10 months, the Chief Minister visited Delhi 23 times, with no tangible benefit to the State. He demanded that Revanth Reddy explain whether he succeeded in getting enough funds from the Centre that matched his travel expenses. He said at this rate, Revanth Reddy might set a record for any Chief Minister for the highest number of trips to Delhi.

“Instead of focusing on development and administration in Telangana, the Chief Minister is occupied with extensive meetings in Delhi. His trips appear to be only meant to please his Delhi bosses and submit accounts earned for the party through corrupt projects like Musi Riverfront project,” he said, asking how much funds the Chief Minister managed to secure from the Centre.

The BRS working president went on to criticise Revanth Reddy for prioritising protecting his political position rather than fulfilling the promises made to the people. He remarked that the Chief Minister’s claims that these trips were meant to secure funds for the State appear to be mere posturing and misleading. “Just like we predicted before the elections, the Chief Minister is busy shuttling before Hyderabad and Delhi to prostrate before his bosses to safeguard his position,” he said.

He reminded the Chief Minister that people of Telangana did not vote him to be at Delhi’s beck and call, but to improve their lives. He stressed that Telangana needed a leader focused on the State’s welfare, not one occupied with securing his own political future. He advised Revanth Reddy to stop these needless trips to sacrifice Telangana’s dignity on the national stage and instead dedicate his efforts towards fulfilling the promises made to the people of Telangana.
