CM Revanth’s s blood-shedding remarks indicate his bloodthirsty mindset: Puvvada

Kothagudem: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s comments about slaughtering opposition leaders and sprinkling their blood on crops to make them grow demonstrate a bloodthirsty mindset, former Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar said.

He remarked that the Chief Minister’s response to a journalist’s query during a media interaction in Hyderabad on Saturday about drought conditions troubling farmers in the State was highly contemptible and unbecoming of a Chief Minister.

If the blood of opposition leaders stood in the way of providing water to farmers, the BRS leaders were ready to shed that blood. When the time of reckoning came, Revanth Reddy would meet the same fate as Hitler, he warned.

Speaking to the media at Aswapuram in the district on Sunday along with former Pinapaka MLA Rega Kantha Rao, Ajay Kumar said he had seen many Chief Ministers but never encountered one with such a foul tongue and mean behaviour.

Revanth Reddy lacked a concrete plan to address farmers’ issues and the basic knowledge that water could be lifted from the Kannepalli pump house without closing the Medigadda gates. Instead, he was finding fault with the Retired Engineers’ Forum for suggesting the same, the former minister said.

He pointed out that while the water level at Kannepalli was currently 96.79 metres, the pumps could actually be operated at a level of 94 metres. As water was expected to remain at that level for another 100 days, 200 TMC of water could be lifted at the rate of 2 TMC per day.

With that water, it would be possible to fill all the reservoirs in the Godavari basin to irrigate agricultural lands. Yet, the government was ignoring the fact because it would mean acknowledging the benefits of the Kaleshwaram project and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s achievements, Ajay Kumar said.

There were numerous issues in SCCL, and plans were being prepared for large-scale agitations. The BRS would not retreat in the face of criticism from the Congress. Instead, it would respond more strongly and wage an uncompromising struggle on public issues, Ajay Kumar added.
