Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday warned senior officials to end negligence in implementing government schemes and development programmes but refrained from announcing any immediate disbursal of funds.
The warning came amid protests by contractors over delays in clearing pending bills. During a special meeting with CMO Secretaries and Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, the Chief Minister criticised Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Heads of Departments (HoDs) for slow execution of welfare schemes and development works.
“The government will not tolerate dereliction of duties by any officials,” Revanth Reddy asserted, emphasising accountability across departments. He noted that even after two years of Congress governance, some officials had not altered their working style or attitude.
While he stopped short of announcing any funding, a major factor affecting scheme implementation and developmental works, Revanth Reddy instructed department Secretaries to expedite the release of Central grants and funds under Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
