Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s absence from the Congress party Formation Day celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday raised many eyebrows within party circles.
After participating in the Congress Working Committee meeting in New Delhi, the Chief Minister returned to the city on Saturday night. However, despite being in Hyderabad, he did not attend the celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan, where TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud hoisted the party flag and addressed party workers.
Several Cabinet Ministers also stayed away from the party Formation Day celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka instead participated in the celebrations held at Khammam.
Except for BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin and Labour Welfare Minister G Vivek Venkat Swamy, other Cabinet Ministers failed to attend the programme at Gandhi Bhavan.
