Coal-laden goods train catches fire in Medak

The loco pilots Nunavath Kumar, Anjaneyulu and manager Srikanth noticed the smoke emanating from one bogie after which the local station superintendent, Prasanna Kumar called the fire station.

Medak: A coal-laden goods train caught fire, prompting the loco pilot to stop the train at the Mirzapalli railway station in Chinna Shankarampet on Saturday.

The train was heading towards Raichur from Ramagundam. The loco pilots Nunavath Kumar, Anjaneyulu and manager Srikanth noticed the smoke emanating from one bogie after which the local station superintendent, Prasanna Kumar called the fire station.


A fire tender has been rushed to the spot. It took one hour to douse the fire.
