Karimnagar: Collector RV Karnan emphasised the need to gain complete knowledge on each and every subject to succeed in competitive examinations. He was participating in the competitive exams awareness programme jointly organised by Group-I Officers Association and Satavahana University in a function hall here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Karnan advised the students and educated youth preparing for competitive examinations, to gain complete knowledge on each and every subject to get a government job since the State government has decided to fill more than 86,000 jobs vacant in various departments. Unprecedented for any State in the country, the Telangana government has undertaken the recruitment for filling more than 80,000 vacant jobs including Group-I, II & III, and district to zonal level posts at one go, he said.

Besides taking the decision to provide 95 percent jobs to local people, aspirants aged between 21 to 49 years of age were provided an opportunity to apply for various jobs. Stating that such an opportunity would not be repeated again and again, he advised the students to prepare for jobs by considering it as a one-time-offer.

Karnan asked the students to fix the target of achieving a particular job and strive hard to crack the exam. Informing that there was a possibility of asking more questions from Telangana related issues, he advised the candidates to develop a habit to read books on mobile phones. It was necessary to focus on current affairs, historic places, prominent personalities, famous things and others.

Instead of four newspapers, it was better to read only one newspaper every day. There was no need to read 12 to 18 hours in a day, three to four hours concentrated reading was enough, he added. There was also no need to approach coaching centers to prepare for competitive examinations. “It is possible to secure jobs by continuing studies at home, if the aspirants work as per a fixed schedule,” he said. Explaining about his Civils preparation, Karnan informed that he had also prepared for the exam at home without approaching any coaching centres.

Satavahana University Vice-Chancellor S Mallesh, IPS officer Giridhar, Group-I Officers’ Association State president M Chandrashekhar Goud, district secretary Hanumanth Naik and others participated in the awareness programme.
