Nalgonda: District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil on Wednesday instructed the officials of R and B, municipality and other departments to work in tandem for the development of roads, beautification of junctions and setting up of medians and footpaths in Nalgonda town.
Along with Nalgonda MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy, the district Collector held a review meeting with the officials of R&B and municipality on the proposed development works in the town.
Speaking at the review meeting, Patil said that all the junctions in Nalgonda should be developed and special focus would be laid on their beautification. Junctions would be developed at marriguda bypass, Vivekananda statue, NG College centre, Subash statue, Collectorate, clock tower centre, old collectorate building centre, Savarkar Nagar, DEO office centre and Munugode crossroad in the town.
He instructed the officials to take up the development of the roads keeping in mind the expansion of the town in the next 40 years. Bhupal Reddy said that proposals should be prepared by the officials for setting up of LED lights at the junctions. He also underlined the immediate need to identify the lands for the setting up of two rythu bazaars in Nalgonda.
Nalgonda Municipal Commissioner Ramana Chary said that setting up of Nalgonda Urban Development Authority, which was suggested by Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K Taraka Rama Rao, would help for the development of surrounding areas of Nalgonda. The state government would allocate special fund if the authority was set up.
