Rajanna-Sircilla: District Collector Anurag Jayanthi on Tuesday visited low-lying areas inundated with floodwater in Sircilla town. Few localities in the town were submerged by floodwater following the heavy rain on Monday.
In order to get first-hand information about the flood situation in the town, Collector along with RDO Srinivasa Rao and Municipal Chairperson Jindam Kala visited Shanthinagar and examined rehabilitation measures being taken up by revenue, police and municipal departments.
The Collector advised the people to cooperate with officials and vacate houses that were in bad shape. He wanted the officials to take steps to avoid human and property loss.
Informing that a control room was established to help rain-affected people, Anurag Jayanthi asked the people to contact officials at the control room over phone no 9398684240.
District administration has shifted rain-affected areas people to rehabilitation centres established in government nursing college.
On the other hand, two persons, who were stranded in floodwater as Kothacheruvu overflowed, were rescued by a rescue team.
