Mahabubabad: In a rather surprising development, leaders and activists of tribal and BC associations celebrated the transfer of district Collector Adwait Kumar Singh.
The leaders and activists burst crackers and distributed sweets in front of the tahsildar office in Mahabubabad town on Thursday, expressing their happiness over the official’s transfer. They raised slogans against the Collector and thanked the State government for transferring him.
Speaking to the media, they accused Adwait Kumar Singh of obstructing the development of the district. The district has gone backward in terms of development in all fields due to his decisions during his two-year tenure as Mahabubabad district Collector, they noted.
Protesters alleged that public grievances raised during weekly Prajavani meetings remained unresolved, making farmers, students and unemployed youth suffer. This celebration has become a topic of debate in the district.
Adwait Kumar Singh is an IAS officer from the 2013 batch belonging to the Telangana cadre. He holds a BA LLB (Hons) in Law and LLB in Humanities from National Law Institute University, Bhopal.
He was transferred and posted as Special Secretary to government, Coordination (Government of India Projects and Centrally Sponsored Schemes) (GoI and CSS), in Telangana Bhavan, New Delhi, in a major reshuffle carried out on Wednesday.
