Khammam: Colourful rallies marked the TRS campaign for the Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections here on Friday.

Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar conducted rallies in 25, 26, 39, 36, 45 and 54 divisions along with the contesting candidates. The rallies accompanied by kolatam artists and drum beaters have attracted the attention of the public, who gathered in large numbers at the rallies.

At a programme in 43rd division, as many as 150 Congress workers led by that party division president P Rammurthy joined the TRS in the presence of the minister and SUDA Chairman B Vijay Kumar.

Home Minister to campaign in Khammam on Saturday

Speaking to press persons at the party office Ajay Kumar informed that Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali was scheduled to conduct election campaign at Quila area and in other parts in the city on Saturday.

The Minister denied the charges that he had threatened a Congress candidate to withdraw from the contest. He accused the Congress party leaders of circulating a fake audio clip in support of their claim.

He said there was no need for the TRS to worry about Congress candidates as none of them would be able to put up a fight against the ruling party candidates. The CLP leader and Madhira MLA, Bhatti Vikramarka was panicked about the poll prospects and hence was resorting to cheap tricks.

Bhatti was shown defeat in his own constituency in Madhira Municipality elections. Though he failed to develop Madhira, TRS government allotted 30 crore for the municipality development, Ajay Kumar noted.

MP, Nama Nageswar Rao in his interaction with the press persons noted that Khammam witnessed large scale development with central lighting, side drains, wide roads and there was no doubt about TRS victory in KMC polls

He warned the Congress leaders not to make personal remarks against TRS leaders. In elections political parties have to explain their agenda to the public to seek votes but making personal comments was not a good practice

Nageswar Rao accusing the Central government of neglecting Telangana said the BJP government at the Centre failed to allot enough quantity of oxygen cylinders to the State despite several requests to address the covid-19 crisis.

The Centre which proclaims ‘one tax one country’ motto failed to maintain uniform price in the supply of covid-19 vaccine to the States in the country. The BJP leaders in Telangana should question their party about its negligent attitude towards Telangana, the MP noted.
