Senior character artiste Narsing Yadav passed away on Thursday evening while undergoing treatment for kidney ailment at Yashoda hospital, Somajiguda. He is survived by wife Chitra and son Ritwik Yadav. Narsing’s brother Shankar Yadav is a former corporator from Sultan Bazar.

Born on May 15, 1963 in Koti, Hyderabad, Narsing made his silver screen debut with late actor Vijaya Nirmala’s directorial Hema Hemeelu in 1979. Although he had played small roles later, Narsing wanted to get into active politics and contested Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections in 1986 and lost with a thin margin.

Subsequently, Narsing was drawn to cinema after he was spotted by Ram Gopal Varma and cast him for his movie Kshana Kshanam which gave him a massive break as a comedian. Megastar Chiranjeevi had nurtured Narsing and cast him in almost all his movies later starting with Mutha Mestri to his recent flick Khaidi No. 150.

In a bid to support one of his friends, Narsing admitted in an interview that he went to Pune Film Institute where he and his friend got an opportunity to play small guest roles in Vinod Khanna-starrer Adha Din Aadhi Raat.

Spanning a career of more than 30 years, Narsing Yadav acted in more than 400 movies, including films in Hindi and Tamil languages as well. Some of his movies include Prajala Manishi, Premabhishekam, Gaayam, Mass, Mayalodu, Shankar Dada MBBS, Anukokunda Okaroju, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, Race Gurram, Pilla Zamindar, Sudigadu, and Kick, among several other films.
