Communist leader Anabheri Prabhakar remembered on death anniversary
CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy, Prabhakar Rao’s daughter Viplava Kumari, CPI district secretary Ponaganti Kedari and others paid tributes to the late communist leader by garlanding his statue
Karimnagar: Legendary communist leader Anabheri Prabhakar Rao was remembered on the occasion of his 73rd death anniversary on Sunday. The CPI district unit organised a commemoration meeting near Prabhakar Rao’s statue at the vegetable market near Venkateshwara temple here.
CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy, Prabhakar Rao’s daughter Viplava Kumari, CPI district secretary Ponaganti Kedari and others paid tributes to the late communist leader by garlanding his statue.
Speaking on the occasion, Venkat Reddy informed that though Prabhakar Rao was born in the family of landlords, he fought for the rights of poor and downtrodden. “As part of Telangana armed struggle movement, Prabhakar Rao formed a dalam and waged fight against social evils such as bonded labour and autocratic rule of the then Nizam as well as Razakars, Nizam’s private army,” he said.
Prabhakar Rao along with Singireddy Bhupathi Reddy and 10 other dalam members were killed in an encounter that took place near Mohammadapur on March 14, 1948.
