Compassion key to effective parenting

Gitanjali Devashray co-hosted a virtual, spiritual session ‘Arise-An awakened citizen’ on the art of parenting recently. The webinar was live- streamlined and was open to parents of students from classes VI to X.
Under the aegis of Ramakrishna Mission Swami Shantatmananda highlighted the importance of efficient parenting which comes from being compassionate towards children. Swamiji also reinforced the ideology of Swami Vivekananda, “Arise, awake and stop not, till the goal is reached”.
The ARISE team also elaborated the acronym—accept, reflect, involve, share, encourage, curating an awakening in the minds of parents. The webinar opened with a simple prayer and a welcome address. Later Swamiji addressed the gathering.
Members of ARISE followed up with their orientation on various dimensions of the challenges of parenting. A Q & A session was made proactive and the responses of parents were very assuring.
