Hyderabad: A complaint has been lodged with the Jubilee Hills police against Bigg Boss Telugu, a popular TV reality show, alleging that it promotes obscenity and negatively influences the younger generation.
According to the complaint filed by K Srinivas and B Ravinder Reddy, both residents of Siddipet district, the show regularly broadcasts vulgar language, indecent behaviour, and personal attacks, which they claim are harmful to the younger generation and violate Indian cultural and family values.
They urged authorities to register an FIR against the show’s promoters, producers, and broadcasters, and sought intervention by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to suspend or ban the ongoing season.
The complainants stated that while freedom of expression is important, it should not be misused to promote immorality or social harm, warning that such programmes could erode public decency and the moral foundation of youth.
No official response from the police or the broadcasting network has been reported.
