Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar instructed officials concerned to complete 15 megawatt floating solar plant on Singareni thermal power station reservoir by March next year.

The first phase of five megawatts plant must be completed by December this year, he said, at a review meeting with Singareni thermal and solar power department officials on Thursday at Hyderabad Singareni Bhavan.

Of the three phases of solar power plant installation, 172 megawatts plants have already started producing electricity, he said, and instructed officials that the remaining 10 megawatts plant (Ramagundam-3) which is in the first phase and 37 megawatts plant at Kothagudam which is in the second phase must start by the end of the month.

With this, the Singareni would reach capacity of 219 megawatts. He suggested that the tender process should be completed by December for the 250 megawatts floating solar project installation on lower Manair water reservoir.

Expressing satisfaction over Singareni Thermal Power station taking the seventh position in the country for the best power station among the 25, Sridhar said the Singareni should aimd for the top five among the 25 plants in the country.

He advised officials to maintain the power station in a way that it should be a role model for all other thermal stations across the country.
